I can remember as a rebellious teenager hating our families’ alarm system. My mom would diligently set it every night, and on nights I wanted to sneak out to hangout with friends, I would have to leave a window or a door cracked to trip the system – yes, I was not exactly a rule follower. But now as an adult with 1 toddler and a baby almost here, I can’t help but understand why an alarm system fully makes sense. I had mentioned a few months back that we decided to install a front door and a flood light camera by Ring, and we decided to take the leap and install the Ring Alarm Home Security Kit after the holidays. In general, I am a scaredy cat kind of person. I would always make my parents “check for robbers”out my window before I could fall asleep, but now that I am in my own home, it’s even more intensified. I also know that my online presence makes me somewhat public, and it gives me peace of mind to know that we’ve taken precautionary steps to alarming our home.
Just like with the ring door bell, the Ring Alarm System is really convenient, because it connects to their app on my phone. It’s all housed in one spot, so I can check my front door camera, my flood light AND that the home is armed! The alarm system came with a sensor that I added onto my front door, so if the door is opened up, I will get a notification. It also beeps when I am home, so I can hear when someone walks in from the other side of the house. If needed, you can add extra sensors as well to arm your windows, or a back door. It includes a Base Station that connects to the Wifi, a keypad and a motion detector. You can either set the alarm to “Away” or “Home” – and if you set it to home, it only monitors the outside of the house, but leaves the indoor sensors disarmed.
So far, we have really loved having the Ring Alarm System, especially when we were traveling to Miami. It’s so nice to get notifications when the door is opened, and it have the sensors setup in the house to make sure nobody intrudes! If you have any questions about the alarm, let me know below!
