Our Must-Haves When Traveling With A Toddler (2.5 Years Old)

It has been quite a while since I shared anything about traveling with Hudson – I shared our essentials for a flight around 18 months, and roadtrip must-haves, but it’s been over a year so things have definitely changed! We’ve recently started to travel a bit more again, because from 2 and on it felt like traveling with Hudson became way WAY easier. He understands the concept of a trip now, has a lot more patience, and actually can relax and watch a movie VS wanting to run around and get into everything! We’re able to travel much lighter now, but I wanted to share our tried and true staples that we bring along on every trip for any mamas out there on the hunt, or wondering how we go about accomplishing so much travel with a toddler alongside us!

OUR TRAVEL MUST-HAVES

  1. Summer Infant 3D Lite stroller – This is our favorite travel stroller – if you followed our journey through Europe when Hudson was under a year old, we were still using this stroller! I love it because it’s EXTREMELY lightweight, but the seat also can recline all the way back so he can take a nap! It also has a little basket underneath and a cup holder, so for the size of the stroller, it accomplishes so much!
  2. Cars Nap Mat – Since converting into a big kid bed, Hudson is really able to sleep anywhere and at any time, as long as he has a pillow and a blanket. We love to bring this along with us, so he can take a nap wherever we’re at!
  3. Siliskin Straw Sippy Cup – We love to use these at home, and bring one along when we travel. It’s so nice that it’s reusable, and that it can work for smoothies, juice, water, etc. They’re so easy to rinse out, and to reuse.
  4. Paw Patrol Headphones – If we’re on a plane, it’s always so important to not disturb everyone around us, and Hudson loves these headphones! Everything Paw Patrol for the win!
  5. Toddler lap travel tray – This is perfect for long drives or plane rides, it sits right on Hudson’s lap and he can color or read books, and I can place my phone in it and put on a show!
  6. Snack Dispenser – I used these when Hudson was a baby too, but it’s great to pack a few, and grab them when he gets hungry on the go!
  7. Magentic Drawing Board – Now that Hudson is a bit older, he loves spending time drawing on this! It’s such an easy way to bring along something to color with without all of the hassle of carrying crayons or markers.
  8. Fox Backpack – Nothing gets Hudson more excited than the idea of carrying his own toys around, so he loves packing his backpack for a trip and bringing some of his favorite things along! I love this cute backpack ( and don’t use the leash part, haha!)
