My Green & Neutral Holiday Decor + Links!

I know that Thanksgiving has not come and gone yet, but to be honest I think I speak for all of us when I say we needed a win in 2020, and Christmas is it. I love how my home feels all decorated for Christmas, and as I sit here typing this among the twinkly lights around my living room, I have no regrets. Whether I am sipping champagne or seltzer, reading or binging Netflix, or just hanging out with my kids, every thing is better in a well decorated space. It feels thought out, cared for, and extra special. Hudson keeps looking around and saying ITS CHRISTMAS IN HERE!!! That’s why I do it, to create that magic.

This year I was feeling a more “elevated” holiday decor theme, and one that I can keep up (minus the tree and stockings) for a lot of the winter. When I closed my eyes, I saw a lot of creams, greens and tons and tons of lights. I like to think that I made that happen. In the past I’ve used stereotypical Christmas colors, with tons of pops of reds everywhere, but I just don’t really like the color red. I am not sure why I felt obligated to use it and live with it every December, but I think my days of doing that are numbered. I placed pops of red in little well-thought out nooks, like on my open shelves in a display of all of my favorite Santa Clause mugs, but overall I really reigned the reds in, to make the decor feel less cheesy. It took my almost 3 weeks and many many visits to Target, Etsy, Homegoods, etc to feel like every little touch is complete, and there’s still some things I would change, but I finally feel like it’s about 90% complete. With home decor, the reason you don’t see it more on my blog is mostly because I feel so insecure about sharing it before it feels 100% done and sometimes to me it never feels done. It’s more of the type-A in me, and how I am so not a perfectionist in a lot of things in life, but when it comes to room reveals I most definitely am. So here it is, almost done but not completely complete! Happy ALMOST holiday season!
