Kitchen Reveal With SMEG

BEFORE:

Before we jump into this full reveal, I just want to take a second to acknowledge that NOTHING, and I mean nothing feels better than taking a step back and looking at an epic before + after photo. This one has been a long time coming, and Sea and I (and her uncle and aunt) are so proud of how this one came out.

A few months back, when I was super duper pregnant, SMEG reached out to me to see if I wanted to partner – I was so sad, because there’s 0 point in doing any work on our newly renovated kitchen, and I also was about to give birth, but SMEG is a brand that I’ve loved and respected for so long. I mean aesthetically, in my opinion, appliances usually deter from the vibe of a space, but SMEG not only adds beauty and simplicity to the space, but their appliances come in amazing colors, and they are well-made and functional. I will still always be slightly sad that this offer came along right after we renovated, but as I sat there with Sea, we brainstormed different ways we could still make a partnership happen, and we realized that Sea’s kitchen in the home she rents (owned by her aunt and uncle) was the perfect space to renovate. We originally had planned to DIY it all, and paint the cabinetry white, but her Uncle and dad work in carpentry and as architects and were just as excited about the project as we were, so they decided to help us out and install the cabinets themselves. The demolition happened 2 months ago, and after that everything fell into place! If you’re interested in the nitty gritty of the process, I created a highlight all about the job on my instagram. The most exciting two days of the job were the SMEG appliance delivery (of course!) and the day that her dad and uncle installed the beautiful open shelves that her dad made. He owns a local shop Fine Line Design here in Long Beach, NY. After that Sea and I added our own little special touches to the place, and sourced plants and home decor to match the vibe we were looking for – cozy, minimalist, and the perfect balance of cool and warm tones.

We still stand in the space in disbelief at how different, and how incredible it looks. We’re so excited to share these images and this journey with you!

How beautiful is this oven? The color green is just right, and the perfect mixture of vintage-inspired with modern and sleek lines. It pairs so great with the grey wood flooring, and white cabinetry! We added some warm fall decor to warm the space up a bit, and the backsplash is a traditional subway tile with black grout. I’ve included links to the appliances, along with all of the decor below!

Thanks to SMEG for partnering on the post, as always all opinions are my own!
