A Weekend in Upstate NY + Our Airbnb Link!

Obviously travel is not on most of our agendas in 2020 – I am definitely not in the place where I am comfortable flying (I’m not sure when I will be, but it’s going to take a while for me at least) but we’ve always really loved driving a few hours upstate during the Fall to catch the foliage at its peek, get outdoors and just soak in the Sept/ October air. Luckily it’s distanced, and with kids we don’t even go out to eat anyway because it becomes complicated with their nap times and their bedtimes! So we packed our car full of groceries and rented a cute home in a beautiful neighborhood filled with foliage and great walking, and we just enjoyed being together as a family. The house itself had gorgeous property in the backyard for Hudson to run and play, it was kid-friendly, and it also had a sauna which Matt and I loved!! Here is the listing of the house we stayed in.

We just did a quick 3-day trip, and on Sunday (our one true full day) we made an appointment to go apple picking at Fishkill Farms. If you’re planning on going, I would definitely make an appt because it fills up. Masks are required, which I loved. It was very easy to spend a full day there, between apple picking, the pumpkin patch, the corn maze and the food they had in the open air, we spent most of Sunday there! At night we would cook the kids dinner at home, and then order delivery for the two of us with a bottle of some local wine that we picked up in Beacon! Matt also stopped into Hudson Valley Brewery and picked up some local beer, they have an awesome pickup window!

A few other fun things near the home that we didn’t get around to doing:

  • Meadowbrook Farms
  • Walkway over the Hudson State Historic Park
  • Fishkill Ridge Trails – we really wanted to hike here, but didn’t end up making it

Tag me if you end up staying here!!
