Affordable Backyard Summer Toys + Furniture For Toddlers

Summer is HERE, and since we have been mostly spending time at home due to the NY stay at home orders, I knew it was time to get to work on completing our backyard (more on that soon!) Once we installed new grass, I knew I wanted to create a space that both we could enjoy, as well as our kids. Hudson loves to be outside, and we’d much prefer that he spend hours on end playing with water toys and bicycles VS cooped up in the house. I think as a parent the worst part of bringing our kids outside is the hassle it can create – pulling all of the toys out, getting in swimsuits, putting on sunscreen, and then watching them get completely wrecked and muddy. I am not going to lie, it sometimes gives me anxiety, but I knew in setting up my yard I wanted to make outdoor play quick and accessible, so I can relax and enjoy myself and so can Hudson. I also wanted to pick up toys that he could grow with, and that both he and Charlie could enjoy in years to come! I wanted to share some of the toys I picked up in partnership with buybuyBABY!

The first toy that I picked up that is such a winner in our house is this cute sprinkler attachment. It is extremely affordable, and so easy to connect to our hose. It provides hours of entertainment (water is the most entertaining for kids!!) and I like that it’s pretty contained, and doesn’t spray more than a few feet of water in either direction! I also picked up this adorable Bubble Mower – you add bubbles in and when they push it, it blows out bubbles. Hudson sees Matt mowing the lawn, so he loves to pretend he is mowing as well.

A few other really cute toys I picked up include this Play House Tent – make sure you have enough space for this one, as it is fairly big. It’s very easy to build and take down, and I love that it has windows on 3 sides, and will provide great imaginary play for the next few years. I also picked up this wooden trike – Hudson still uses it, but I know when he outgrows it Charlie will be able to use it next! Another fun toy for pretend play is this Grillin’ BBQ Set. It came with some fake food, and it’s so cute to see Hudson to pretend to make dinner as we’re cooking!

As far as furniture goes, if you are looking for THE CUTEST LOUNGERS AND TABLE EVER ( in my opinion) this table set and these chairs are it. It is so cute watching Hudson relax in his chair, and eat lunches and snacks on his table. He is also so proud to have HIS OWN table! But best of all, they’re aesthetically pleasing, which is sometimes very hard to find in children’s toys and furniture.

I’ve included a few other awesome toys below that we picked up, including this basketball hoop and this extremely affordable baby pool. My greatest weapon to keep Hudson entertained during the summer months is most definitely water play – whether it’s with his sprinkler, or in a small blow-up pool, if he has some cups or buckets and some water, he is happy. I hope these gave you some affordable ideas on what to pick up for your yard, and HAPPY SUMMER!!!
