My 3 Go-to Spring Lipsticks!

So before I jump into it, let me just admit something to you all – I have the WORST kissy face ever in the history of kissy faces. I think it’s because I have smaller lips, but I just cannot make them, and felt so silly shooting these, but also thought they showed the lipstick off really well! I have been on a lipstick journey lately – those of you who have followed through the years know that I am mainly a red lipstick kind of gal, and anytime I have a fancy event, or a wedding, etc. I always run to my bright red lipstick. But lately I’ve been feeling a shift inside, and I really want to look more natural. Red lipstick makes me feel like this person I am not on a lot of days – overdone, dressy, and not as down-to-earth as I actually am! I really wanted to find a lipstick color that I could wear day-to-day, without feeling like I am overdone at the park with Hudson, or at a dinner with friends. My search began last year, and I started by trying out tons of light pinks, until I realized more copper/ orange-y shades complement my hair and skin color best. I’ve tried SO.MANY. lipsticks. I can’t leave a drugstore without picking one up to test, and it’s become somewhat of a game to me. These are my favorite three out of all that i’ve tried, and the three shades I’ll be wearing all summer!

one | two | three

one: Revlon 240 Sandalwood Beige: This is hands-down my new favorite shade!! I love how moisturizing the lipstick feels going on, and I also love that it’s thick, but not as thick as my lip stains which can feel like a bit much first thing in the morning. It lasts probably for 1-2 hours before needing to be re-applied, but the plus is it doesn’t come off weird or uneven like so many other lipsticks out there. When it’s off, it’s just fully off, so i can simply re-apply without feeling self conscious that my lipstick may look crazy after a meal! I love most of Revlon’s products (this isn’t sponsored!) because they make the greatest shades for pale girls like me who want a more neutral tone, but this is by far my favorite lipstick that they make!

two: tarte quench lip rescue balm in nude: I really love this moisturizing lip balm for a beach day, or a morning around town when I don’t want to put on any color yet. It slightly tints my lips a bit darker so I don’t look washed out, and gives them such a nice gloss! The balm actually feels like butter on my lips. If you’re looking for something to use EVERY DAY, that isn’t overbearing, this is the best option that I could find!

three: Sephora lip stain 70: I really love to use the Sephora lip stain if I am going to an event where I will be drinking and eating, but I want my lipstick to stay in tact. It’s the perfect lipstick to wear out at night, so you don’t have to worry about it wiping off. I wear their 01 red color as well, and really like the quality, and also that I can actually wipe it off at the end of the night. I’ve used some lip stains that are SO intense, that my lips crack, and they are impossible to take off. This lip stain stays on, but is still easily washed off! I really like this shade because it’s a tiny bit more pink than the others, but is still neutral enough that I can wear it on a random weekday, and feel like my best self!

Let me know your favorite lipsticks in the comments – my search for more favorites is never ending!
