Nothing makes me sadder than REALLY loving a bloggers outfit, and then swiping up to realize that each piece is hundreds of dollars. It just happened to me the other day – I saw a glossy blogger in Hawaii wearing the cutest two piece set, and when I went to shop it, the piece was hundreds of dollars – not an amount I feel comfortable spending on a seasonal piece that may be out of style next year. It makes me feel like fashion is SO exclusive, and also like my life isn’t good enough. It makes me feel like I need to make more money to look cute, or have a larger shopping budget! But that way of comparing and thinking are so wrong, and they’re the thing that I love least about the industry I work in. I like to look at things differently in this space, and show you that fashion and dressing up every day is something that EVERYONE can do – maybe it’s just swapping out a shoe, or adding an accessory. That’s not to say I don’t save up and make smart larger purchases, but overall I am very budget conscious when I shop! I think the key is to find a spot to shop and pick up staples that are more affordable, so you can get the same look you had saved from a blogger, but for less.
I am so excited to share this full look with you because it is under $60! My jumpsuit was actually $9, if you could believe it, and when I was picking up these flowers I had not one, but TWO people compliment me on it. It’s a winner! I picked everything in my look up from Walmart, and was so excited to hear about how inclusive their We Dress America campaign is. It celebrates fashion for all, and champions style that is original and prices you can feel good about (which is my motto over here!) The styles are all highly curated, which makes it easy to find trendy pieces easily without having to look too far. Some of the current trends are bold stripes and prints (like this jumpsuit!) romantic tops, statement sneakers and denim! I am so impressed by the selection of shoes, and this pair has easily become one of my new summer staples.
Fashion has been what keeps me motivated since I was a little girl – when I get dressed in something that makes me feel good, it completely shifts my mood throughout the entire day. EVERYONE should be able to experience this confidence, and excitement over getting dressed!! I really hope that this space is always an inclusive one that you walk away from feeling inspired!
