This post has been a long time coming! I am constantly wearing overalls, and I consider them to be my version of sweat pants. On days I feel lazy, or am not quite sure what to wear, I’ll usually reach for overalls and a striped top. They feel quirky-cute which is the look that I generally go for, but you can also get away with eating one too many cookies and not feel as bad as you would in jeans. haha! It’s really really hard to find a good pair of overalls. Some of them cut too high or too low, and others just aren’t made for curvy hips like I have, but these are my favorite pairs that I get the most use out of! I wanted to explain them each to you, and why I love them for different reasons. And if you were wondering, yes I think it’s acceptable to have five pairs of overalls – they each serve a different purpose!
1 – ASOS washed black overalls – I really love this pair, because I find that solid black overalls can look a bit too clunky. I really loved the washed look of these, and how casual they are. The denim is a bit thicker too, for a more high-end feel. They’re slouchy fit, so the leg is straight and not skinny.
2 – Slim Ankle Cord Overalls – If you’re looking for a fun colored pair of overalls, this pair is by far my favorite (pictured below). I love how skinny the legs are, and how flattering they are on my stomach and hips! They run a tiny bit small, so I’d size up in them.
3 – Skinny Overalls in Santiago Wash – Madewell overalls are my absolute favorite, and they last forever. I’ve had some of mine for about 5 years. This pair is nice and slim, but super stretchy, so they’re really comfortable I bought my true size.
4 – Slouchy denim overalls – This has been my most recent favorite pair. The denim is SO soft, and they’re boyfriend fit, but not so oversized that they are unflattering. I’ve been wearing this pair non-stop.
5 – Skinny overalls in jansing wash – I bought a pair of Madewell overalls years back, and they went out of stock. So many of you have asked for the pair, and while this isn’t the exact same pair, it’s the closest to it that they’ve re-created. They’re a classic wash, and they have a slim fit. They also make them in tall, which is amazing!!
