It’s my very favorite time of the year, and I’ve been slowly making my house super cozy week by week! It’s our second Christmas in this home, but last year we were still unpacking so it felt very different – this year was the first year I felt like I could really start to build my holiday collection. My hope is to eventually have tons of pieces that I love to pull out each year as a tradition, like my aunt down the street who has the most GORGEOUS home at the holidays. A few of my very favorite things from this year include my cozy plaid comforter set, my cute tea kettle with vintage cars on it, and my holiday couch pillows, all from The Martha Stewart Collection, created for Macy’s. All of their holiday pieces are seriously adorable, and they make my home feel so much cuter than it normally looks. My aunt (seems like I am mentioning her a lot in this post! ) always told me that you create your own universe, and the saying always stuck with me, because it is so true. I had this realization that this is MY house, and I can decorate it however I want, which is such a liberating feeling! So around the holidays, I love making it a festive little bubble filled with lights, too much plaid, cookie jars and homemade gingerbread cookies.
To go along with the theme of our cozy home, Hudson and I sent some good smells around and baked gingerbread cookies from scratch. I used adorable cookie cutters from The Martha Stewart Collection, created for Macy’s and make Christmas tree and mitten cookies! I am so happy with how they came out, and we’ve been enjoying the sweet treats. I’ve been meaning to snap photos of my home all decorated, and am so glad I finally got around to it this week! Enjoy!
