I’m Hosting Thanksgiving This Year At Our House & Here’s Some Sneak Peeks!

We have yearly Thanksgiving traditions, as I am sure most of you do, and they usually involve traveling to Miami to celebrate the holiday. For the past few years my parents have gone to Matt’s parents home, and we’ve all been together with Hudson to eat some turkey, share what we’re thankful for and celebrate all of the things that make us happy in life. This year threw us a little curveball, because my cousin Lauren is getting married in NY on the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend, so we couldn’t head to Miami! That left me on Thanksgiving duty! Let me be honest for a second and admit something to you all – I am a terrible cook. I’ve probably shared that a few hundred times on here throughout the years, but it’s the truth. I used to help my mom in the kitchen all of the time when I was younger, and especially on holidays, but the gift just was not passed on to me. It’s one of the only creative things that I’m horrible at, so my mom is coming to the rescue to cook with Matt, but I am taking care of all of the decor and setting the table, which we all know I can fully handle. I take the job VERY seriously.

I really wanted the table to feel elegant and not cluttered, and I knew I wanted the color scheme to be neutral with (surprise, surprise) pops of orange! I absolutely love how special all of these pumpkins from The Martha Stewart Collection, created for Macy’s feel in my centerpiece . The dishes also have a touch of vintage nostalgia to them, which I am obsessed with. I added the pumpkin chargers to tie the centerpiece together, and got a little creative by adding some fake cranberries to the table and to each napkin. I am so excited about how everything came together, and I cannot wait to officially set the table on Thanksgiving Day for my parents, my brothers and our little family. I feel so lucky that I get to do this as my job, and really loved getting to put together a Thanksgiving Table that my family can enjoy!

A few tricks I learned:

  • You can use actual food to spruce up your table, like by adding a touch of green to the plate display, or by adding apples or cranberries to your centerpiece
  • Adding candles makes everything feel more special!
  • You don’t always need a table runner, and sometimes they make the table feel too cluttered

I hope my table setting sent a bit of inspiration your way, and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I am so thankful for each and every one of you!

Thank you to Macys and Martha Stewart for sponsoring this post, as always all opinions are my own.
