How I Create My Go-To Messy Bun!

I have a video on my Youtube channel of how I create this messy updo from a year or two ago, but I’ve been recently getting a lot more requests on how I create the hairstyle, so I figured I’d make an updated post on it! It’s fairly easy, so here goes:

You will need:

A brush

A hair tie

Bobby pins

Dry shampoo (optional)

1 – Brush out your hair, and if it’s a silky texture like mine, I sometimes add dry shampoo for additional fullness, or tease it a bit.

2 – Pull all of your hair together into a very high ponytail!

3 – Pull your hair through the hair tie as if you’re putting it up in a ponytail, but on the 3rd loop, only bring a bit of your hair through, leaving a little tail of hair behind

4 – Fan out the hair that was pulled through the hair tie to the size of bun that you desire

5 – Grab bobby pins and pin your bun in place. I usually use one bobby pin on each side of the bun, and then another 2 on the underside to hold it in place better.

6 – 8 – For the tail that is left behind in the back of my head, I tuck the hair into the hair tie for another mini bun in the back. It’s a bit messy, but I never really mind the look of it!

9 – VOILA!
