Personal: 5 Things Behind The Instagram

I try to pop in with a ‘behind the gram’ post once a month for a little dose of reality, so here goes for this month!!

1 – I try to keep it pretty real in the captions, but to NOT sugar coat things at all, it is really hard at this age to get Hudson to sit still for even a second in pictures. He is exploring, cruising around, not sitting still for a single second. He was not happy when we tried to snap this, but it was such a cute spot, and we’re sad we haven’t taken as many photos of him at this age lately too. I realized that he loves to sit on the edges of things, and that was the best way to keep him entertained while we took a picture. LOL! He’s so friggin cute though.

2 – I took this ON A TRIPOD. Yup, just me, alone in my home! lol! I had the idea for this shoot because I actually feel this way on so many days. On days Matt has work and I have a deadline, I use a tripod.

3 – There’s some days where I will style a look, knowing we’re going to take photos. There’s others where I just get dressed and I’m feelin’ myself, so I’m like “Mattt can you take a photo really quickly!” like the annoying instagrammer that I am. lol. This was one of those days. We were just walking and I decided I felt like snapping a picture, never thinking I’d post it!

4 – It’s a funny thing traveling with friends as a blogger. My friends all know what I do of course, and they are at the point where they are just used to the fact that we will step away and take some photos, but in this scenario I walked away with their food. LOL. We all ordered some beignets, and I stepped out front to shoot for about 2 minutes. They are very polite and waited for us to come back to eat, but it was funny/ more of an interesting dynamic being with a group of people and shooting VS just Matt and I when we have all of our routines in place.

5 – In New Orleans I really wanted to get a photo with the adorable old style trolley behind me, but it wasn’t really working out. Matt and I shot a few different angles, and called it a day. My two best friends picked this photo to post, and I felt like it was a bit different than my usual style. I always love testing out new things, and seeing what is well received!
