We headed to Louisiana last week for our close friends’ wedding with our group of college friends. We flew into the airport in New Orleans, and spent one night there and two nights in Lafayette, which was close to where the wedding was held. During our time there we explored, ate (too much) and had a great time with old friends, plus it was the first time we travelled together without Hudson, which felt very nice. We spent 4 days and 3 nights away from him, and by the end I was definitely ready to get home and hug my baby!! Here’s where we stayed, our favorite spots and of course, what I wore!
WHERE WE STAYED
New Orleans: The Ace Hotel
We are huge fans of the Ace, and the one in New Orleans did not disappoint. It was a pretty close walk to the French Quarter, and the rooms were rad, with SMEG fridges, and beautiful high ceilings. We dug it!
Lafayette: Buchanan Lofts
These lofts were beautiful, and they were great for sharing with friends – we stayed downstairs and our best friends stayed upstairs. They are right in downtown, so we were able to walk into town each day.
THINGS WE DID
We did not have too much time, and as I mentioned we were mainly in town for a wedding, but I figured I would share a few places we went to, in case you were interested!
NEW ORLEANS
This is a no brainer. They have the best beignets, and we stopped in probably 3 times. They’re open 24-hours a day which is really dangerous!
Frenchmen Street
We walked around here, and stopped in to the art market, which had a ton of inspiring artists work for sale.
We stopped in here for some Sazerac’s, and ended up ordering some food too. Everything was delicious!
We had breakfast here, and it was so authentic and the outdoor seating was adorable! We drove, as it was a bit outside of where we stayed.
LAFAYETTE
This place had delicious food and damn good coffee. We were skeptical of finding good coffee, but it happened!
I got a cone with SIX SCOOPS here, and it was amazing.
Our friends rented this place for their rehearsal dinner. It has the most amazing vibe, live music, and a nice outdoor bar!
Hope these recs helped a bit, wish we had more time to explore! 🙂
