one of my favorite parts of attending fashion events is bringing others with me who are not bloggers. the fashion industry, to me, feels like this little world that is so far excluded from reality that it’s seemingly mythological until you are there, and in it. i can remember my first fashion event ever, when i worked backstage dressing models, and how chaotic and foreign it felt. now it feels comfortable, yet still extremely privileged, and sharing that privilege with others brings me so much joy.

i brought my sister-in-law dana with me to the andres sarda show and the Tous after party on friday night. the show was vegas themed, and i admit our eyes glistened watching models dressed in sequins and florals, and our favorite– a full body romper with bell bottoms. i personally have trouble getting “dressed up” for these events, being that i am usually casual, so i grabbed an all black cat ensemble. it works every time!

  • Super cute and chic! Love your top!

  • This looks so so great with those shoes, AHHHH! I love the red and black. Also I've been loving your short hair. You're so awesome 🙂

  • I love that you shared this with your sister in law. I definitely understand what you mean when you say it's this sort of removed surreal thing that happens. I also love that you still retain your personal style when you dress up. It's so unique and still perfect for the theme.

  • Cutest shoes! You're adorable 🙂

  • I feel like you captured the essence of the fashion industry exactly in what you wrote about your experience. I definitely feel that way and really love this post.

  • What a lovely outfit! And I absolutely love the new template of your blog!

  • I can't wait until I have the opportunity to go to a fashion event, it does all seem so foreign and a whole little bubble world of it's own. That dress is amazing <3
